Britain 1832 (Blog 1)

Guided Question: How did the government emerge and what conditions led to its implementation?

Thesis: Rights for electoral votes and freedom of individuals in early-nineteenth-century Great Britain are frequently regarded unrighteous due the mass criticism of the electoral system which was meant to be limited to only top five percent of the selected nobles; the government body had gone through significant changes in its legislature system.

Guided Question: What social, political, and economic events (internal and external) shaped the activities of the government.

Thesis: Most notable moves of the government had complex relationship, underlying of power over power, with the wealth and authorities that belonged to small group of high-ranked nobles; the opposing government party and the body of states of the Act of Reform created an enormous impact on the decision and actions (leading to prolonged consequences) of the government as well as the royal family.

The Great Britain in 1832 went through one of the most significant electoral changes in the history. The introduction for the widen scope of the whole electoral system of England and Wales took place in the midst of the calls and response to many years people had been striving for justice in equality of every society to perform justice electoral vote. The Great Reform Act had shattering effects to the government of the Tory party because it was believed that "unless there is a reform there might be disastrous revolution." There were dominant forces from  the Tories, that strongly discouraged the act of reform, in the House of Commons between 1770 and 1830. Great changes come with the spirits of the population; in November 1830, Earl Grey, a Whig, became the Prime Minister. Later, Grey explained to King William the IV that he wanted to introduce potent proposals that would get rid of some of the excessive rotten boroughs, or towns. Lord Grey intentionally persuade William IV to dissolve Parliament so that the Whigs could secure a larger majority in the House of Commons, which once was entirely ruled by the Tories. However, as King William IV dismiss the call of reform, he was losing popularity among the crowd. Eventually William IV agreed to create new Whig peers and subsequently, the House of Lords agreed to pass the Reform Act. So, the path that led to the reform's implementation could not had happened without the support of the monarch family, especially King Williams IV. Rotten boroughs were removed and new towns were given rights to elect new Members of Parliament, even though the body of constituencies were still unequal in size. However, only men who owned property worth at least ten pound-sterling have the right to vote, cutting out most of the working classes and only men who have enough to pay to stand for election could be the Member of Parliament. As a result, only one out of seven adult males had rights to vote and perform free speeches in public. Whereas in suburban and urban 35 constituencies had less than 300 electors, Liverpool had a constituency of over eleven thousands.

Disappointment of many voters due the very less changes in electoral system of the working classes had moved towards new electoral reform in early 1860s by John Russell. Every reformers must had had the biggest challenge of Britain's most powerful politician of Russell's time -- Lord Palmerston who  discouraged any form of change. The death of Palmerston in mid-1865 gave opportunity to Russell as he needed as a Prime Minister. As stated in the congress, Lord John Russell declared " I want to give vote the respectable working men." (But the still have excluded unskilled workers and the poor. Eventually, the middle class (outnumbered) would still have had most of the major influences in an election. To that point where impact in an election of the so called top-five-percent nobles was significantly lessened, Liberal Party split into two sides: those who favored Russell's bill as the rights of people move forward and those who were more of the conservative point-of-view unified with the Conservation Party to defeat Russell's bill.

Finally the 1867 Reform Act enfranchised 1.5 million men. All male urban householders and male lodgers paying £10 rent a year for unfurnished accommodation got the right to vote. 52 seats were redistributed from small towns (less than a population of 10,000 such as Chichester, Harwich and Windsor) to the growing industrial towns or countries. Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester saw their representation increase from 2 MP’s to 3 MP’s. The University of London was also given a seat due to the support and emphasis on young adult education. The counties of Cheshire, Kent, Norfolk, Somerset, Stafford shire and Surrey were all given 6 MP’s instead of 4. In 1868, Scotland was given seven new MP’s as some new constituencies were created or existing constituencies were expanded. The representation in Ireland remained the same. Wales gained direct changes as England.

Genetically Modified Food: Danger of the Future

The term GMO is generally referred to genetically modified organisms. Where can we experience GMO in our daily basis? What are the things we need for surviving day by day, scarce of food in some places? How can you survive without nutritional FOOD? How do food security service comes to play a role in this issue?

Genetically-modified foods have great potential to save the world's hungers and malnutrition problem, and to preserve our surrounding environment by reducing the uses of chemical and pesticides. Nonetheless of these benefits, there are tremendous works for the governments and related party to help in solving food-labeling regulation and policy in safety testing. Every development of technology, as Neil Postman stated, has its consequences. There are and always will be ones who prevail victory from their or the existed innovations and others who suffer from the new technology. GMO is and has no exception.

It is not natural and healthy way of nursing a four-months-old chicken (though ordinary chicken grows mature at its seventh month) while fertilizing the eggs artificially from this CONFIGURED creatures. No researches have yet proved that GMO has no or less effect to the consumer than the original living food. Food security service organizations are still fighting for consumer's rights for a safer and cheaper food source.

In the current contemporary era, every information exchanged between humans can be considered as a form of communication, even the simplest forms of bacteria do communicate. First thought a human could conjure up in his head when interacting with another person or a group is exchanging information through several systems of language. Early communication has become the most important part of our lives since apes invented patterns of body gestures and sound shapes. It seems that value in a person can only be expressed through communication. People may often think that their are striving for perfection in work skills; however, everything a man does, somehow, comes out in a form of communication. A variety of non-verbal communications can be recognized through a pianist playing his instrument; every ordinary person can acknowledge his information in virtue of body gestures and the sound of music. As Arthur Rubinstein  said, "music is a language."


Peeping Communication 
The origin of the known concept of communication will perhaps remain forever obscure. Even though historians all around the world know that spoken languages existed long before writings; there is no way in determining the exact date of the first invention. Talking about developments of the traditional communication; today's technology make two-century-ago's impossible wishes available to almost every part of the world. For a long period of years, people had struggled to overcome the barrier of communication. It was impossible to deliver voice instant messages from an Hawaiian island to another back then in the sixteenth century. Not until the invention of telegraph in the 1800s when an American Joseph Henry demonstrated the potential of electromagnet for a one-mile cable running across a field to ring a bell. Signal is a form of non-verbal communication; Henry used this knowledge to communicate with his partner over a mile away. In the modern era, the Internet excelled human's abilities to convey information
more effectively and in a wider area; the Internet replaced the importance of printing press which is to mass producing and spread ideas.


Research proved that the majority of our daily communication is about eighty-percent non-verbal and another twenty-percent is verbal.  Sight makes up 83% of the impact on the BRAIN of information; this includes body gesture, facial expression, and clothing. One of the most effective visual types of communication is the info-graphic. Information Graphics are representations of information, data, or image visually. These graphics present complex ideas and information quickly and effectively, an example is shown to the top of this blog. The development of info-graphics helps scientists and statisticians in all-known fields to analyze and communicate concepts and complex explanations using a single symbol or so-called variable. Traffic signs and  public symbols rely heavily on info-graphics; other manual make extensive uses of diagrams, icons, and emoticons. Newspapers work with designers from the beginning to build and picture on a page so that it informs and engages most readers.


Nonetheless, all communications are intended to pass on information to a different group of people in the next generation. Without a written form of communication, it would take a novice in finance field to learn the whole concept of his career than to study a life-time story and cases from ones of the most successful financial entrepreneurs. Communication is the key factor of any organization from an infamous local alchemist to the professional group of chemists. Technology will still continue to bring people out globally and will have a greater impact on information industry in the coming future.

Group Project
Our infographic might not look too professional, but we did spend numerous hours on this assignment. I believe that information on this visual will provide at least provide some benefits for those who seek to see the level of cooperation of tenth graders. I believe not only this graphic will improve the members' abilities to search of information but also how to deliver and convey these facts to the online-world. Sharing this infographic to the public is quite a challenge since it involves several members who whose working style are different. Challenges that we, together, had faced are the compatibility of each person's perspective about the subject and how to deal with bringing all members into the same-right track. When spent more than half of our time before the deadline planning on how to represent the subject in the form of this newly introduced type of communication. After the work, I am certain that all of us the members learned to cooperate with different people and learn this how to work as a team more effectively than we ever had. Procedure we dealt with are listed as:
1. Planning on the format
2. Written ideas of the infographic
3. Draft of some very simple but powerful text (at the best level that each person can handle)
4. Art division drawing pictures and making charts according to the information we had
5. Try several visual maker (both online and offline)
6. Adapting and correcting the infographic to the last minute




I think making this infographic is not a waste of time at all; on the other hands, it improves not only our grades but also the skills in real life working EXPERIENCES.

Appreciation of Matters & Misfortune or Good Luck?

A monk and his novice were travelling. They came by a remote village. Two men, the elder monk perceived that one was a goldsmith and the other was a merchant, was standing at the store arguing about the thickness of a golden crown. Both wanted to take advantage on the selling price and its weight. The monks walked passed by and said,"the crown is useless without an empty arc to fit one's head, to appreciate wholeness of the dense golden crown entirely, you must appreciate absence and emptiness as well. Your pushcart's wheels have no use without a hole for the axle to go through just like you use your house from its emptiness." A farmer heard about two wise monks so he invited them to his place and asked, "My son just got a broken leg; is this a misfortune?" The elder monk said, "I'm not sure it's a misfortune."And the monks continued their journey. The next day, the emperor came through, gathering up young men for wars, they bypassed the farmer's son because he had a broken leg. 

The monks came by a ford for a high-speed steam that was running high the mountain. An old king mislaid the Four-leaves diamond up on the mountain.He sent his generals and their armies to search for it, but they came back empty-handed. He employed the sage of that mountain to search for it but that was a failure. Finally, in despair having tried everyone else, he met the monks. Had seen his sorrow, the elder monk offered the king a help as he called upon a laborer to the mountain, and the laborer found the diamond immediately. "How odd it is,"pondered the king,"that it was a low-class laborer who found it!" The elder monk said, "you should not judge ta man by the way he looks, it is what's inside that counts." At last the king appointed the laborer to be his satellite and gave away two horses to the monks in turn for their teachings.

Egyptian Revolution 2011 Effected The Globe

Egyptians calling for an end to the arbitrary government of President Hosni Mubarak's 30-year rule captured the world's attention from 25th January 2011. The media focused especially in Cario's Central Tahrir where the people from across the country gathered up to form a mass protests, which is currently inspired the change in North African regions.



Originally, the government blocked the Internet access and telephone communication to avoid dipersion of malicious messages. This autocritic action led Egypt to be obsolete of the world's situation. Mass media that shares or gains profits from the Egyptian faced an extremely difficult time due to the retarded economical movements. In some independent entities (e.g. online retailer, telephone company, etc.), losses of oppotunity in financing led to the end of the company persistence. The end of the many companies created an even more drastic crisis, losses of occupations. This downward trend in the economics and political field created  great impact on Africa-overall states of society, economics, and politics.

Since the fall of the old regime, Egyptians have been struggling to build a new democratic one. It has been a long time since Egypt ancient time that millions of citizens participated in a vote to put an end to the constitution they had during Mubarak's era, recovered them from the moribund situation. 



Consumerism Influence on Eastern European Populations

Since 1980, a new break has occurred in the demographic history of Europe. As Massimo Livie-Bacci suggests that five main important phenomena deserve special attention, but only two of these processes create enormous impacts on consumerism behaviors; the end of mass emigration and beginning of immigration and changes in solcial rules and behaviors (marriage,culture, family structure). These changes are the end of permanent demographic trends, which in turn, create new trends in consumer behaviors. Moreover, the improvement in communication, the change that brings each part of the world closer together, causing regional differences within Europe virtually disappeared.

Successful foreign retailer must become more service-oriented to achieve high brand-loyalty. The movement of population increase the rate of consumption of goods ,and therefore, expand the role of the outlandish sellers. Due to racism to foreign vendors and the rise of materialism, majority builds up greater protection of the benefits of consumers. On the other hand, consumerism refers to the theory which greater consumption is beneficial economically. Resulting formations of school, heath care, welfare, and goods production.When stability in economics appears to be consistent, human-magnet attracts foreigner from every directions ensuing demographic shift (for instance transtions in life expectancy, literacy rate, and brith rate statistics).

After the economic stabilized, vendors seek for opportunity to raise the price of in trend products. In accordance with the rise of materialism, consumers are confident in spending (investing) for convenience and opposition of matters. Over a period of time, expendtures keep rising continuously, inflation takes place. When general prices level rise, each unit of currency buys fewers goods and service. Consideration for worthwhile amount of salary plays great role in making decision to enroll the company. Majority calls for increment of wages, those who cannot acquiesce with the general payment rate quit their current job, resulting numerous unemployment that leads to the decrease in literacy rate and the depletion of labor force. Also, with population growth slowing, retailers are no longer able to sustain their long  term profit projections just by building new stores and gaining additional sales, as they did in the past. However, no experts are able to tell what will the future bring.
